The challenge is set. Prime Minister David Cameron has given Chippy’s traders a resounding call to arms in a bid to keep his home town thriving.
After a stunning attendance at ECN’s unique civic event on January 23rd – the biggest turnout of local businesses Mr Cameron has ever seen in Chipping Norton – it’s time to seize the day and unite behind ECN’s “great idea” of bringing large, small, independent and national traders together to promote each other’s prosperity.
This means taking action now and signing up to ECN’s special scheme, designed to give local trade a major kick-start.
“In Experience Chipping Norton you have a great idea to bring businesses together, to promote the town’s shops and promote what Chipping Norton has to offer”, Mr Cameron told a packed Town Hall.
“To get behind the team, you also sometimes have to put your hand in your pocket”, he added. “I love Chipping Norton, I live here and I want to see it prosper, but there is no single answer to ensuring success.”
THE BEST IS YET TO COME
Chippy is missing out on vital Cotswold tourism too, Mr Cameron said, which could only be addressed by local people and traders pooling their resources with ECN.
As the Prime Minister pointed out, Chippy has untapped reserves of creativity, initiative and drive.
“We all know Chipping Norton has far more potential”, he said. “If everyone helped, this could be the start of something really big.”
With January 23rd as proof, we can come together in amazing force to promote our town and interests. This is the first time we’ve seen every strand of business, company and Council under the same roof – along with the Prime Minister – giving us a firm platform to build on.
So contact ECN today, register your name, and take the first step to making the vision a reality.
