Saturday 28 November: Chippy’s mighty reindeer race
We admit it. They’re not quite the real thing. But wooden reindeer do just as well in our lively Lions fundraiser, which is aiming to raise up to £2,000 this year.
Set for the Crown and Cushion Hotel on 28 November, this annual event pulls in around 100 punters who bid in a reindeer auction and move around the course by throwing a dice. A bit like snakes and ladders with antlers.
Sponsored by generous local businesses and washed down with reviving brew of choice, Reindeer Race Night is a heap of fun not to be missed.
Entry at 7pm with first race at 7.30pm prompt– tickets £3 on sale from Gill & Co Ironmongers, any of the Lions or at the door. See you there!
Friday 4 December: ECN’s #FestiveChippy Evening
There’s all sorts of everything at ECN’s #FestiveChippy night. And all this packed into three lantern-lit hours! Look out for the ECN stall where members will be introducing our exciting new range of ECN merchandise – kicking off with zip purses, bags and mugs, all featuring our exclusive designs. You were after some Xmas pressies, weren’t you?
See the Shopping page for more detail about this fun-filled evening!
Friday 4 & Saturday 5 December: Don’t miss Santa’s Grotto
Santa Claus is coming to town, and your gift is waiting in his grotto – namely, the old Post Office on the High Street which has been transformed into a magical Kingdom, for two days anyway.
Pre-book your child’s place through Bartholomews Hairdressing, Gill & Co or the Co-Op Chemist to avoid disappointment. At £5 for a wrapped gift, your little darling will thank you for it.
Selected times 5-20 December: Chippy’s Fairytale Farm
Meet Santa in his indoor fairytale grotto and receive a present. Get engrossed in the Christmas activities. Enjoy all the usual Fairytale Farm attractions. And check out the enchanting Christmas lights, bigger and better for 2015.
Sample some Christmas cookie decorating, join Santa’s Christmas hunt and – for the grownups – tackle the mulled wine and mince pies.
The animal areas and adventure playground are open until dusk, when Christmas lights transform the farm into a true wonderland of colour.
